Buckling Down…
If you want to see a shining example of a complete lack of self-discipline, you only have to look at me. Hell, just look at the fact I’m typing this at 4:30 in the morning and I swore I’d start getting back on a decent sleep schedule a week ago…
But I’m making progress. I’m a REALLY busy guy. I do a lot of stuff for a lot of people, and in between have to somehow find time for 3 jobs, college, games, anime, and a social life. I’m taking on even more this semester with challenging myself to get through a book (my parents bought me iWoz for Christmas, not sure why, but I feel required to read it), and I’m joining the Go club here at school.
So, with the help of an endless supply of post-it notes (one of man’s greatest inventions, next to duct tape and sliced bread), I’m becoming much better at managing my time and getting things done. Now mind you, “much better” for me means I at least ATTEMPT to work on something important during the day now. It hardly means I’m blazing through my to-do list like I should be…
On top of all that, my identity crisis continues as I juggle the idea of getting a tattoo and getting my ears pierced. My extremely long hair has already vanished, transforming me into the stereotypical emo guy with the part to one side covering his eye. I’m really not sure what’s going on with me in a fashion sense, just changing some things up until I figure out something I like. I do enjoy pimping my new Twilight Princess hat…
The industry seems to be coming to a slowdown. The consoles have hit, the first little next-gen game drought has hit, and everyone’s pretty much just laying back and playing what they got for Christmas. My Wii has been gathering dust the past month, sans the occasions I meet up with friends. I just don’t really have the time to play it, but even past that I admit there’s nothing I’m dying to play on it. WarioWare is heading my way soon, I’ll definitely hit that up.
But otherwise, I can’t tear myself away from my DS. Castlevania and FF3 have me devoured. Let’s face it, the Wii has a lot of work to do before it can catch up with the quality of it’s little brother. The DS is easily the best gaming platform on the market right now, and I don’t see that changing for a few years. Even I never anticipated how successful and awesome this handheld will be, it’s truly amazing.
Besides the DS, I’ve been knee-deep in Guild Wars quite a bit lately. Got Nightfall for Christmas, which adds 2 new classes, a completely new story and area, and most awesome IMHO, the addition of a “Heroes” system, allowing you to train NPCs and equip them like your own character to go into battle with. If anyone wants to see how a MMO should be run, look at GW. The game never stops evolving and getting better…
Oh, check out my review for Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2. I’m quite proud of it, I think it my best review to date. I was really surprised considering it was rather rushed together, but it came out quite nice I think…
Update: Added a “What I’m Playing” section to the sidebar, for both games and music. Just if your interested…
