Epic Smash Update is Epic
I’m blogging about a blog post, a new low I know. But this is pretty damn epic to me…
The new Smash Bros. is going to have what essentially boils to Pokeballs for non-Pokemon. How many times in the past couple years have I uttered the phrase “they should have ~insert random video game character here~ come out of a Pokeball or something”? I can’t count, but I promise I have a good handful of times. So this makes me giddy:
What’s an Assist Trophy?!
Well, these are characters who appear to aid the fighter that called them forth. Basically, they’re guest characters separate from Smash’s playable roster!
Assist Trophies allow you to enjoy even more characters who couldn’t quite make it as playable fighters. You may even see some that only the most dedicated fans will recognize, so you’ll have to look forward to them.
So far, we only know of the Hammer Brother, Nintendog, and Samurai Goro…but I’m praying for some great third party additions. Nintendo found an awesome way to make a lot of people happy with characters that just weren’t feasible for playable characters but fans really wanna see. Thanks again Big N…now gimme this game!!!

Ok, I’m gonna assume by now that you didn’t get to go to E3.
