End of an Era
My boss for The Game Feed gave some surprising news at last night’s conference call…
TheGameFeed.com will be shutting down by the end of this year.
Yeah, so my Wii Editor position is about to disappear. I really liked that title too… :/
The timing however wasn’t horrible, as I’m already in talks with a guy about another writing job, and this one’s paid in more than just free games and Nyko products every now and then. I’ll talk more on that later…
Over the past year I’ve got a lot of experience and made some good contacts within the industry. The real sad story is I’ll be losing my press credentials after this year, and won’t be able to get into press-only events. My press profile with Nintendo is personal though, not through the company, so I will still have access to their press site and whatnot, although until I get an active job with a company it’s still not quite enough to get into E3.
I’m very sad to see it go. It was a great team of great people and writers, and it was fun in a lot of ways. The only regrets I have about the experience was not going to at least one big gaming event with the team, but money is more than tight right now (if my credit card bill gets below $2000 I’ve decided to celebrate by buying Guitar Hero III).
Anyways, to all my coworkers, thanks for everything. A big thanks to my boss Hang too for the opportunity, it’s been great. I don’t think this is quite the end of my writing career, but I’ll likely look back on it as one of the fonder moments of it…

I never was a large fan of it, but it’s sad to see something like that go downhill.
Was it a matter of popularity/funds?
Best luck to you.
