Whoa, did that all happen as quick as it did? My apologies for the late acknowledgement, but I hope you all had a good break. I caught up on a whole lot of anime and played the hell out of my beautiful new Guitar Hero 3. Dragonforce <3.

So, my new year is in crisis right now. My desktop has died (and a piece of my soul along with it I think). Woke up one morning and it was just dead, possibly the CPU overheated. Testing and whatnot has narrowed it down to mobo or processor, either way I’m forced to get a whole new computer. See, while I’ve got a whole computer full of great parts, my brand new graphics card works wonders for The Orange Box, everything uses the wrong ports! They don’t put AGP slots on new motherboards! DDR1 RAM is way out! After investing over $200 in to upgrade this thing over the past couple months, I now have to REBUY EVERYTHING.

So let’s look at the damage. I’m gonna hit some stores tomorrow, but this is what I’ll probably end up ordering on Monday…

MSI K9N4 SLI-F Motherboard - $90
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ 2.80GHz Dual-Core Processor - $110
Cooler Master AMD CPU Cooler Heatsink/Fan - $20
2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel RAM - $50
Radeon HD 3850 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 Video Card - $180

If I can get away with just that $450 and avoid another $150 for a new case and power supply, I’ll live. But yeah, so much for going to Katsucon this year. I really need a steady source of income, I’m a few grand in the hole as it is in credit card debt… *dies*
